We are the educational system of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the North Colombian Union, which seeks the restoration of God's image in human beings through high-quality education. This is expressed in the harmonious development of physical, mental, social, and spiritual faculties in service to God and society, being recognized for our commitment to instilling Christian principles and values.
To be a department that leads a consolidated system that lives by the principles of the Adventist philosophy of education. With self-sustaining, accredited, and innovative institutions. With trained, committed, and satisfied teachers who educate students within a framework of integral education, enabling them to develop competencies to transcend and serve in a globalized world.
To promote the cause of Christian education and provide guidance in the establishment, supervision, maintenance, and operation of the denomination's schools and colleges within the territory of the Union.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to provide its children and youth with a general education within the framework of the science of salvation.
To holistically develop children from zero to five years of age in their physical, emotional, intellectual, linguistic, social, and spiritual aspects, in collaboration with family and community.
To help each student in their formation as a citizen for this earth and for the world to come, teaching them to respect every unit of society such as the home, church, school, and government. The elementary school shall offer an organized program ensuring proper development conducive to integral health-spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional-providing a basic foundation of practical and intellectual knowledge for daily life.
To build the character of students so that they may relate appropriately to God, the home, the school, society, government, themselves, their health, vocation, leisure time, and economy, thereby achieving spiritual, civic, and ethical maturity. Institutions under the church's supervision, through their custodial, creative, and evaluative work, help students develop ethical, religious, and social values compatible with the church's philosophy and teachings - values that prepare graduates for their chosen professions or vocations inside or outside the organization. These institutions also help students develop a higher concept of service to God and humanity.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church recognizes that God, as Creator and Sustainer of the Earth and the entire universe, is the source of all knowledge and wisdom. God created humanity perfect, in His image and likeness. Because of sin, humanity lost its original condition, and Christian education, by promoting faith in Christ, seeks to restore in human beings the image of their Maker. We believe that the redemptive purpose of true education is to restore human beings to the image of their Creator. Adventists believe that God is infinitely loving, wise, and powerful. He relates to human beings personally and presents His own character as the fundamental standard for human conduct and His grace as the means of restoration. At the center of all this lies the spiritual goal of loving God and others, exalting Jesus Christ as our supreme example of character.
Seventh-day Adventists believe that knowledge of this personal God cannot be attained through human reasoning alone, but that God has revealed His nature, purposes, and plans through divine revelation. The Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, were given by inspiration of God and contain the revelation of His will to humankind, constituting the only rule of faith and conduct for the Church. Adventists recognize that the motives, thoughts, and behavior of humanity have deviated from God's ideal. Education, in its broadest sense, is a means by which human beings are restored to their original relationship with God. Acting in unity, the home, school, and church cooperate with divine agencies so that students are prepared to be responsible citizens in this world and citizens of the world to come.
Adventist education imparts more than academic knowledge; it promotes the balanced development of the whole being - physical, mental, moral, social, spiritual, and vocational?and extends through time into eternity. It fosters a life of faith in God and respect for the dignity of every human being; it seeks the formation of a character like that of the Creator; it encourages the development of independent thinkers rather than mere reflectors of others' thoughts; it promotes an attitude of service to others motivated by love rather than selfish ambition; it fosters the full development of each individual's potential and inspires appreciation for all that is true, good, and beautiful.
Adventist Education is based on biblical principles and enduring values. It is committed not only to pedagogical quality and academic performance but also to the integral formation of students.
Love, faith, integrity, humility, honesty, transparency, tolerance, truthfulness, respect, and responsibility.
